Mark Ryan wines

Mr. Ryan was winemaker of the year in 2016 so we had to try the wines. It’s too bad we missed him in Walla Walla at his estate property. We found them in Woodinville. Despite the crazy Saturday environment, Stan took good care of us and had us try all the estate/reserve products. The Chard was lovely and had a light oak and soft fruit. As we started to get into the reds the tannin and acid pops were huge. Sticky teeth is the word for all the wines. None of them were small wines; however the production is low. Shipping to Ohio is possible, so if you want some of these wines, get to them fast because their quantity is small. We very much enjoyed LongHaul which is primarily Merlot. Very large wine, wbd with food would end with yummy black fruit. Our favorite one was Dead Horse. There are stories behind each of these names. This one was 90% Cabernet sav and had a lovely black fruit aftertaste. Despite the high acid and tannin quality, the fruit remains as a pleasant aftertaste.Visiting Woodinville, if you can avoid Saturday that would be great in order to experience this pureWashington fruit example.

Studying wine since the early 80's, I've become a Wine Studies Education level III solely though interest, and I occasionally represent an Italian importer, while working full-time as a financial national speaker. I'm always seeking a 'find' whether taste or value wine versions.
