Woodinville is a crazy busy area for multiple tasting rooms congested into small retail spaces competing for parking. All wineries were packed, so if you can, avoid on weekends. Thanks to Glen who fit us in to Delille who holds the distinction of all rated wines above 90 pts eight years straight. We found the wine similar to the big reds throughout Washington (ie, red mtn), in that they featured bright red fruit with huge tannins and acidity. Mr. Ryan was winemaker of the year in 2016 so we had to try the wines. It's too bad we missed him in Walla Walla at his estate property. We found them in Woodinville. Despite the crazy Saturday environment, Stan took good care of us and had us try all the estate/reserve products.The Chard was lovely and had a light oak and soft fruit. A very unique father-son adventure with 26 wines. One could visit just here in Woodinville and not need to go anywhere else with this number of wines. Many wines are sourced from their estate property called Stillwater, and the other uniquely from properties where Mr Mike Januik developed a relationship as the winemaker at Chateau Ste Michelle. After retiring, he built his own winery (tasting room right across the street from Chateau Ste Michelle) with his son Andrew. Many of the wines are rated 90 points. In partnership with Chateau Ste Michelle, this winery produces Red Mountain big grape products. We did a vertical of the cabernets and also tasted the cab franc and the Malbec, pictured. we find a taste in them that is distinctive possibly from the limestone. Each one had huge tannins and acidity and the fruit was aromatic but not as fruit forward and its flavors. Thanks Cherie for sharing your knowledge of the terrior and the big wine.

I start up wine business with a son named Steve on his parents property and 4 years old. Find great mostly and doing a great job getting it from places like Red Mountain in Walla Walla.Very much enjoyed the Riesling which is a soft lemon tart like with a clean finish.we very much enjoyed their cab which is one of the biggest blackest cabs that we've had and they got the grapes from Red Mountain. At $27 it's a great buy and we bought several bottles.Their red blend is also big with a cab, franc, malbec, petit verdot blend. Huge tannins and definitely food wine.very nice new property

Up in the southern Valley of Walla Walla and a long drive to find a couple of wineries.  Extremely overcast foggy day with frost all over all growth so it shows us the cool times. They explained that there were many days of hundred degrees and then drop cold at night with frost. That's what we're seeing. The fog inversion apparently it's pretty common too. The wines are classic to Washington -- high acidity, red to black fruit which state bright. I attribute that to cool nights keeping down grape ripening into darker black fruit. They stay acidic but have high tannins and deep burgundy color. Everything at Northstar

Next to Owen Roe it was the only sparkling house in the state, and the sparkling made me stop. Walking in you encounter 4-story high steel containers as well as cooled ones indoors. A little challenging for our schedule because it was a FORCED sit down/slow presentation. Nice experience if you want to spend time and it serves food. The most award-winning winery in this Valley is Owen Roe and so we chose it as our first visit to the vinticultural AVA. Beautiful property on a sloping landscape facing Mt Adams in the background.We had a lovely time with Susan who was extremely knowledgeable.I learned that Cab Franc is a premier wine in Washington often presented as a single varietal. We couldn't differentiate it from a reg red wine, easy drinking and without the yellow pepper that we often find from old world presentation.Outstanding at this property was the Syrah.
