Virginia Cave Ridge

Virginia Cave Ridge

Visiting Virginia and of course had to try the wine. Stopped by Cave Ridge winery on the way back to the resort I was staying at in Shenandoah valley.

Cave Ridge winery is a lovely off-the-main-road secluded place with a great venue for relaxing wine tasting.

Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor setting and view of the Fall turning leaves that covered the vineyard and the rolling hills scene. Challenging one Carlene in however it led to a beautiful covered patio in the secluded woods.

Tasted mostly the reds and enjoyed the red silk Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petite Verdot. all the wines were easy drinking sipping wines but the latter was served with a chocolate pairing of a raspberry flavored cake that just made it pop with flavors.

For my big Napa palette they failed to deliver on the tannins but they delivered on the fruit flavors.

Enjoyable place to visit if near Bryce Resort and Bayse Virginia.

Studying wine since the early 80's, I've become a Wine Studies Education level III solely though interest, and I occasionally represent an Italian importer, while working full-time as a financial national speaker. I'm always seeking a 'find' whether taste or value wine versions.
